The Day

A class at The Cookhouse lasts all day

Good cooking starts with good ingredients, so Cookhouse participants start the day visiting local growers and vineyards such as Melness, Pegasus and Fiddlers Green to learn about some of  the day’s supplies and wine to match the dishes.

Cooking is sensory. Participants see, touch, taste, hear and smell everything, close up, in the intimate kitchen space.

Each class is a contemporary journey of culinary discovery. Graham discusses menu planning, what he's looking for in matching food and wine flavors and textures. He shares techniques and chef tips, unexpected combinations and interesting presentation twists.

Graham challenges and inspires your imagination. Each class is presented as a menu involving varied culinary techniques, ethnic dishes and styling. Each dish is matched with wine (or maybe beer if that's a better combination) and you won't need dinner later. Bring an adventurous palate and you will take home the recipes, a new sense of culinary excitement and that deliciously replete feeling.

The day’s format means it is ideal for a group team building or a social occasion. Graham will have a menu set and it is possible for participants to have input into this prior to attending the cookhouse.
